Nicholas and Celia seem to have gotten a better grasp on toothbrushing lately. Just this month we switched them to regular toothpaste. They had been using the baby/toddler toothpaste, but now they have learned how to 'try' to spit into the sink. Jason taught them to say 'EEEEE' and 'AHHHHH' to get different parts of their mouth. Celia thinks the minty toothpaste is a bit spicy/hot for her tongue, but she'll get used to it. We only put a teeny pea-size dot of toothpaste on. I usually end up brushing my teeth with them as an example of what to do.
Its cute cause when they are done they know to rinse their toothbrush, tap it on the sink and put it in the toothbrush cup. :) They're growing up so fast!

Wow! I told Greg he needs to watch this video. We are still pinning our kids to the ground to brush their teeth - lol. They are doing GREAT, I can't believe they can spit and all. Is the adult toothpaste okay for them at this age? I guess it is since they are spitting it out and not swallowing it. I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteBrandon and Faith love to brush their teeth too! Haven't taught them to spit yet.. I will wait a bit.
ReplyDeleteLittle Lindy is the pure DEVIL when it comes to brushing his teeth. He HATES it! I have to use a spin-brush and can't brush his teeth first thing in the morning. He kicks and screams and pulls my shirt, necklace and anything he can get ahold of. He does good at night though. When I go to the dentist in May I am going to take him with me so he can see Mommy get her teeth cleaned and then hopefully he will let the dentist look at his teeth. They look great to me, but maybe after the dentist it will make him a "new" man. :o) I have tried songs, letting him brush my teeth, his own teeth, eeee aaaa oooo everything. He just hates it. :o)
ReplyDeletewow Jill! they are doing great! i think we might need to start working on this too!
