Aaron. 9 months.

This last weekend I grabbed my camera and took these pictures within about 3 minutes time in our livingroom. I'm so happy that I caught some cute ones of Aaron.
How can he be 9 months old already (and actually he is already 9 1/2 months old)? Slow down!
He is about 18 lbs (17 lbs 15oz, but he seriously loaded his diaper before the Dr appointment, so its probably more like 18 lbs for sure) and he measured 29 inches long.
* I looked back @ my blog post from when N&C were 9 months old (wow... this blog goes back!) and these were their stats at 9 months:
Nicholas is 18# 1oz (10%) and 28.75" (50-75%)
Celia is 14# 9oz (<5%) and 28" (50%)

So he and Nicholas are almost exactly the same length and weight. How funny.
(grrr to blogger... i had other things written but they are gone! retyping them now at almost 1:30am - Celia is up coughing tonight and i just nursed aaron, so I haven't even gone to bed yet)
Anyway, he is crawling everywhere and pulling to stand. Tonight I caught him up on our trampoline and grabbed him before he crawled off and face-planted the carpet. He prefers Nicholas and Celia toys over baby toys. He is happy and silly. He makes the silliest faces. He likes to give big slobbery kisses on people. He has 3 teeth and 3 more on their way. Nicholas and Celia did not even have teeth at 9 months old. He loves finger food, but still has to be careful about chewing it. He is slowly improving with solid foods. He still nurses 6 times a day - one of those times are at about midnight, otherwise he sleeps through the night from about 6pm-6:30/7am. Nicholas and Celia are his best pals and they are wonderful with him. I catch Celia giving him kisses all the time and Nicholas likes to make him laugh. He's a joy and blessing to all of us.

This May I am going to attend a photography workshop in Chicago for 2 days. It'll be the longest I have ever been away from Nicholas and Celia without seeing them (they even saw me daily in the hospital when Aaron was born). I'll be taking Aaron with me since he'll still be nursing. The photographer leading the workshop said we'd just use him as a possible subject sometimes. It'll be a bit more challenging for me to have him at the same time, but I prefer this over leaving him home. And if I was going to bring any baby with me to chicago, it would be Aaron for sure. He is adaptable for sure. I'll most likely wear him a lot of the time - he'll nap when I'm wearing him in my ergo carrier. It'll be an adventure.
His eyes are not quite hazel/brown like Nicholas' are. They are still deep blue, but with some gold specks. I think Nicholas' eyes were hazel by now, but I'm not sure. I am wondering now if Aaron's will change much more. We may end up with 3 kids with 3 different eye colors. That would be pretty cool. Actually, in this picture his eyes look the same color as my eyes.

I also need to add that Aaron sort of says his first word now. I didn't catch on right away, but he has been whispering 't - t' whenever he saw our cats. We always say 'kitty' when the cats come by him. Aaron LOVES our cats. He goes nuts for them. He loves them more than N&C ever did. Maybe he'll be an animal lover? So, now when he sees the cats he says in his little baby whisper 't-t'. Yesterday when he picked up Nicholas' stuffed 'Max' (a bunny from the cartoon 'Max and Ruby') Aaron looked at it and said 't-t'. It's SO awesome he is making those connections - and right now that connection is that kitty = anything on 4 legs with fur and whiskers. ha ha
We're doing baby sign language with him as well, but he is not really making the signs yet.

Love you sweetie :)

  1. What a great update! Aaron is such a doll. I miss that I am so busy with Lauren and Sammy whenever we are together to ever spend quality time with him. Hopefully as Sammy and Aaron become less time consuming then that will change. I am glad that Sammy and Aaron will be able to grow up together and hopefully be great friends! I love the pictures (especially the baby cellulite!).
