Last night I sat on the livingroom floor and made Celia a tutu. I plan to use some for photography clothing/props, but first I wanted to make one for her since they can be quite specific for waist and length. At first it seemed like I would never finish it. I took a break and then came back to it and then it seemed much easier.
So this evening we went outside and took some pictures in the backyard just for fun. Poor little girl started to get cold fingers even though it was decently warm outside. We had to walk to Grandma and Grandpa's house to show them her tutu afterwards. She likes to wear it. Which goes with her love of jewelry too. I was never a girly-girl as a child, but she seems to be.
The funny thing is that Nicholas has ZERO interest in the tutu and jewelry. Celia has very little interest in Nicholas' cars. Just seems like strong gender preferences to me for this young?

I also received my reflector this week. So I had it set up in the livingroom to take some test pictures. I still need to learn how to angle it to produce the lighting that is best for the subject. This photography is tough to learn and can be daunting. Here are 2 of Nicholas:

I love it! That is too cute. That reflector seems pretty cool too, is that so you can take indoor pictures? I like that last shot of Nicholos that is in b/w. His eyes are so piercing in it!
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on the tutu Jill! And as always, the pictures are stunning. :)
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! Celia is so pretty:)
ReplyDeleteAw, look at that cute Celia in her tutu! I love it!!! So sweet. And that B&W pic of Nicholas is just amazing!!!!!!! You are so talented!!!!
ReplyDeletecaroline.
ReplyDeletealso, the funny thing is, caroline's favorites match up with nicholas better than with celia! caroline LOVES LOVES LOVES outside, and would also live out there if she could. We always have kicking and crying tantrums when we come inside. and she also loves buses, trucks and airplanes. good thing she has a brother coming soon! :)
(and hopefully she'd actually wear the tutu!)
oops, i deleted the first part of my comment. the first part said-
ReplyDeleteare you willing to share how you made the tutu or where you found the idea? i thought i saw a link for it on ILP, but i wasn't crazy about the design. i like yours better! i've been interested in making/buying one for caroline.
What wonderful pictures. You sure have the eye for it.
ReplyDeleteThat reflecter must really work,, the b/w picture of Nicholas is great! Very balanced. Wish everyone could see Celia walk in her tutu. wink wink
