No Teeth, Yet!

Wow! They are 8.5 months old and no teeth yet. I seriously thought they would have a couple by now. According to my baby book I didn't get teeth until about 10 months, but Jason got his first tooth at 6 months. The 'Average' time to get the first tooth is in the 7th month.
This morning Nicholas was seeming miserable. He was crying and trying to fall asleep but was tossing and turning, He eventually fell asleep as I rocked him. Poor little guy. I gave him Motrin and he seemed to get some relief. Today he has been chomping on toys and drooling a lot. This morning when he was crying I was thinking, "Its coming in right NOW". But, still no teeth. I have to think it is soon though. Tonight I gave him Motrin and Oragel for bedtime hoping to help him sleep well.

Yesterday (Monday) I took him to the Pediatrician because he woke up with a big bump on the back of his head. I kind of bumped his head on the wall the night prior, but he didnt cry and I thought I bumped the other side. So I got him in to see the Pedi and the Dr checked him all over - looked at his lymph nodes there, looked for a bug bite, but looks like just a swelling from a bump. He apologized for having us come in for nothing (I had called first), but he wanted to err on the side of safety. Of course, I agree, you can't buy a new Nicholas. :) I think there is a little lymph node swelling, but it is soft and mushy and is decreasing in size.
But, today I am hearing from another Twin Mom (Hi Joanna) and on-line as well that these bumps and lymph node bumps can be attributed to teething as well. As long as it is soft and moveable (which it is) it is supposed to be okay.
