Now he goes to bed at 8pm and nurses somewhere between 12-3am and then not until morning (unless it is a growth spurt). He is pleasant, happy, calm and content almost all the time. I probably could count on one hand how many times he cries all week - and that would include the times people make him cry. ha ha (teasing Uncle Matthew for pouting at Aaron and making him cry this weekend).
I let him play with pacifiers with his tongue for some oral stimulation cause he gags sometimes when pacifiers go into his mouth or he tastes a toy on his tongue and i wonder if he has a little oral aversion? I could be wrong? Its still early for him for food, so it really doesn't matter right now. I've given up on trying bottles with him. Grandma Maus got him to take a bottle 1 time and another time he took an hour to drink an ounce. I figured that in a few months I can run someplace and if he gets hungry before I'm back he can have some baby food or practice with a cup. Some nursing babies never take bottles and he'll be one of them. I enjoy nursing him so much anyway. Its very special for me to be able to nurse him and see him smile at me when his belly is all full.
However, he is an avid pooper. And that poo often escapes from his diaper. ha ha He adds to the family laundry well.
We just love him SO much. We are all so happy he is part of our family (And we would still be in love with him if he was difficult).
About Aaron...
- cries when people make sad faces at him. Nicholas was the same way. I hear I was the same way as a baby too.
- is starting to sit with a boppy around his waist already (N&C didn't sit until 6 months old) if I am there to spot him. He's still wobbly, but there are sometimes he can sit for a few seconds on his own.
- grabs at toys - he loves the floor gym
- favorite song is the 'ABC's'. He looks at me like I should win a Grammy for my ABC renditions. Thanks, lil guy. :)
-sucks on his fingers and fists
- goes to bed at about 8pm after a bath and then being nursed
- has been able to lay down awake in bed and falls asleep on his own for naps/bedtimes. Its tough to lay him down smiling and watch him watch me walk out of the room, but if I keep him up too long and he gets over-tired thats when the tears fall.
-coos and gurgles at us "ooooo" and "ahhgoooo"
-will copy facial expressions we make at him
- laughing more - especially when tickled
-rarely ever spits up (never really spit-up) vs with N&C we moved the carpet away from the couches so that when they spit it all the time it would be on the hard floor.
- i can't think of any times he has cried for diaper or clothing changes
-LOVES baths. He kicks, splashes and smiles the whole time
-when he is hungry he 'talks' and i can probably get a good 5-10 min more out of him if i need to so I can get something out for N&C to do while I nurse him
- often he nurses in about 5-10 min and he seems to be spacing out to every 2.5/3 hours the last few days (until the next growth spurt, i'm sure)
- sleeping unswaddled for a few weeks already. N&C wanted to be swaddled until maybe 8 months old

aw,Jill, that is so sweet! I am so happy for your family! Glad sweet little Aaron is doing so great!!!!
ReplyDeleteIf there is one thing I'm good at, its making babies cry. Sorry Jill. Seriously though, that is one laid back kid.
ReplyDeleteJill, I think I was guilty of making sad faces at you and making you pucker up. At least your Mom said I used to. I must have wiped that memory clean. And I'm so glad you showed a picture with feet. I was getting worried :-)
ReplyDeleteaww, what a sweet post. He is getting so big too! Love the chubby cheeks! I think I need to get out my DL outfits soon. Every time I see your pictures of them in their DL Jenny outfits I can't wait till mine grow into theirs!
ReplyDeleteYeah!!! DL onesie!! He looks so dapper in it! :) He sounds like such a great baby Jill! I'm so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteyes, that baby is one sweet little guy! I can't believe how much he's learning already! Your feet comment made me laugh right out loud--I had to go back and look at the other pictures.
