A monkey named Nicholas

Nicholas has grown his climbing legs. Yesterday I was in the bathroom putting on my make-up and I knew he was in our bedroom (right next to the bathroom). Suddenly I hear giggling so I look in our master bedroom and Nicholas is up on our bed. We have a pretty high bed! He was wearing shoes, so I think he got his little foot onto the frame and got over the box-spring and mattress. So now I have to make sure he isn't in our room with his shoes on. I don't think he can do it without shoes because it would hurt to step on the frame edge.
So then Celia wanted up on the bed too. So, I had to grab my camera. :)

Nicholas looking proud of himself after climbing up on mom & dad's bed:
Celia looking over the headboard where Nemo the kitty sleeps. Nicholas looking at the lamp that burnt his finger. He definitely remembers that it is the lamp lightbulb that hurt him. He will look at the lamp and then look at his finger (which is all healed by the way).

Today Celia napped from 12:15 to 4pm. WOW! So Nicholas and I went outside for a while. Here he is climbing some more. Is it just me or is this kinda good for an 18 month old? I don't know, I just didn't expect him to be able to do this at this age! He looks like a 3 year old to me.

And a cute picture of Nicholas and Celia reading in the livingroom :)

This evening after dinner I called Grandma and Grandpa to see if we could visit with them before bedtime. Grandma said she would take a walk with us so we threw on our shoes (Nicholas, Celia and I - Jason had to run an errand) and we walked down the sidewalk to Grandma's house. We were kind of fast so I even crossed the street with them all by myself. They each held a hand and we walked across. It was neat. :) Then we took a LONG walk with Grandma to the park. N&C walked all the way there, played at the park, and then dragged themselves home. I ended up carrying Celia a bit, but Nicholas' legs were about to give out on him. When we got home they downed a cup of water, got their jammies on, washed their faces, brushed their teeth and were in bed and sound asleep by 7:15. And we haven't heard a peep since. They were pretty exhausted!

Oh yeah. p.s. I went out tonight and had some 'me time'. Jason told me to go out and spend a little money on myself. Yippee! So I went out and got my brows waxed and as the stylist is waxing my eyebrows we were chatting about how I have twins. She said, "Are they siamese?"

I've been asked MANY times if our twins are identical (which makes me think people really need to read Websters Dictionary and brush up on what IDENTICAL means) but, I've never been asked if they are SIAMESE. Hello people? Our twins looks very different aside from having some differences in body parts!). So I am making it my mission to help people to understand so another mom of twins doesn't get the "are they identical question".
So I told the lady that they were not siamese. And they aren't identical. Most boy/girl twins are not identical because they have different body parts".
I think I'm going to start bringing some flashcards. 2 will have the exact same red ball, 1 card will have a blue ball. I will ask them to choose the cards that are 'identical'. We will have a little lesson right where ever we are. Sheesh people.

  1. Funny Jill! I swore I thought N&C were Siamese too! (J/K). By the way the climbing is very good for his age! He makes it look so effortless!

  2. OMG Jill.....your waxer asked if they were Siamese??? I'd have told her to stop right there and gotten off the table. She might have though you had a unibrow too and ripped both...totally separate....eyebrows off. Wow.....can people really be that uneducated?? Cute pictures of your Monkeys! :)

Great video of Nicholas climbing! The boys just stopped in the tracks to watch the video too! I keep talking about N&C and they can say their names, so hopefully they will have fun playing together!!! Looks like he is enjoying the new play structure! I have my eyes open for one too!

  5. How funny, was she thinking of a cat or that they were conjoined?? lol. :) Nicholas is a good climber on the slide, I bet that is a fun toy for them and helps to burn off energy too. How nice that you guys have such good weather to go for a walk like that, that sounds really nice!

  8. Jill, siamese, that's a classic for sure!! *lol
I always say, just because it's how it always comes out, uh boys and girls can't be identical 'cause uh, well... and they go Oh yeah, duh. Duh is right!
Do they like the slide/clubhouse? We haven't touched ours in about 2 weeks, it's been too hot to be out unless we're in the water. You sound like you have perfect weather thought to be able to walk that long! What a nice way to spend the evening!!
