Pumpkin Painting!

Nicholas and Celia used paint to decorate the pumpkins we picked from the pumpkin farm. I spread out a paper bag with finger-paint paper on top and then a pumpkin on the paper. Then with little bowls of paint and Q-Tips they painted. They surprised me with how well they did. They were so intent and interested. It was really neat to watch them work.
The video shows them at work and in the background you can hear our basement being worked on (the framing is almost done!).

  1. Love it! I might have to do that with Kat & Brody, it looks so fun. And they were so serious with their painting, like they were really concentrating. What made me laugh is that you sort of caught Nicholas taking a lick of the paint - lol.

You'll have to post pictures of your basement!

  3. What a fun idea! I'm just too scared of paint with my boys right now. I guess I need to get over that because they would love it for sure. How cute!

  5. How fun! You're brave! I love the pumpkins. Our preschoolers used to love to scrub pumpkins and gourds too. Just an idea.

  6. N&C are so good b/c they can do so many neat things without trying to eat the paint, dump it over, put it in their hair, etc. We're still at THAT phase! But what a fun project for them. ;)
