I'm in the 26th week and doing pretty well! In the last couple weeks I started having some mild contractions (braxton-hicks, I guess). Then on Friday was having some aches that concerned me. I'll spare the details, but they were similar feelings that I had with Nicholas and Celia on bedrest. So I called my OB and explained what I was feeling and they had me come right in. Thankfully Jason was able to rush home so I could go in (my Dr was almost done with her clinic hours). Well, the Dr checked me out and I am fine. What a relief! I've always gotten poor news when I went in with N&C's pregnancy. Friday and Saturday night I was getting discouraged cause I was feeling more contractions - still only about 6 in a day, but more than I'd like. However, Sunday I had only one as I was reading in bed and today I've been fine too. Perhaps it was just my ligaments stretching or something? Not sure, but I'm making my own adjustments to prevent any complications:
1. I'm not picking N&C up much at all. If they want to be picked up I'm walking with them to a chair and having them sit on my lap.
2. Jason is carrying laundry up from the basement for me
3. When N&C nap I'm making sure I rest somehow - either nap or reading a book.
4. I'm making sure I drink lots of fluids - mainly water (being dehydrated can cause contractions. .. . but so can a full bladder, so it means more trips to the bathroom)
5. Still changing diapers on the couch or on my bed so I don't have to be down on the floor.
So, maybe things will settle now after a couple days of adjustments. I go to the OB every other week now and then at 36 weeks I see her every week until delivery. I've been real pleased with my new Dr. Her plan is at 28 weeks to start doing FFN tests and if I was to ever get a positive FFN that she would have me get the steroid shots for the baby's lung development to speed up. I'm still quite sure we'll get to full -term, I'd just like to avoid having to be on modifications like bed rest. Only 11 weeks until full-term (37 weeks)!!!
I do still do some pregnancy excercises though. These leg lifts make a huge difference in how my pelvic bones are feeling. N&C thought it would be fun to join in. :)

ReplyDeleteHilarious - I love that they are doing the exercises with you! That's so great that you aren't having any more of those contractions. I bet you make it to full term too! Love hearing yours and Jason's accents ;).
ReplyDeleteGood for you for exercising! That was the cutest video!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteN & C copy really well. I can't even imagine being pregnant while having twin toddlers. Or for that matter - having a newborn and twin toddlers! :) You are very blessed!
You're hilarious Jill! I couldn't even manage one of those leg lifts with my bursitis let alone even get on the floor...and you're pregnant! *L* You're my Shero!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing all the right things and taking it easy. It's hard to not worry about PTL when you've been there once already. I hope your story turns out as well as mine.
ReplyDeleteThat is soooo cute! I love the "kicks". Would look super funny in fast motion :) Next time we need a sideways belly shot.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that your doctor is being so proactive-- and that you are doing just fine. Just hope those contractions go away for you. I think it's great that you're doing exercises and N&C look like they're having so much fun, too! ;)
