Nicholas is almost completely well again. He coughs only a few times a day and those coughs are much better. Celia has been all better for a while now. I'm glad he recovered quickly from the pneumonia.
This weekend we were very busy. Saturday we took them out for ice cream at a Chocolate Shoppe in town. Jason and I decided we'll do home sundae parties from now on since it was almost $9 for 4 ice creams! Yikes. Then we took Nicholas and Celia to the local book store and sat and read children's books with them. We found them each a book in the bargain section. It was just a nice time to show them some neat books and celebrate reading. I don't buy them too many books since I have a LOT from teaching that I can grab from.
Saturday we also found them putting on my mascara. Seriously they were working as a team cause they were out of our sight for maybe 45 seconds! I have a child-safe lock on my drawer, but they wiggled their little hands in there and started putting it on. I'm going to need to put my makeup in a new place. If you look closely at Celia's picture you can see that she actually got some on her eyelashes!!! I'm glad she didn't poke her eye!
Also, I'm 25 weeks pregnant with our 2nd little boy now! He is kicking a lot. He has days where he is real active and other days where he is sleepy and only wakes up here/there. I read that those sleepy days are often times of big growth. I feel like I've grown a whole bunch in the last couple weeks. We are interviewing Doula's so we can hire one to be at the labor/birth of this baby. Since I'm attempting a natural birth instead of a 2nd c-section, I'm really hoping to do well and studies show that women labor better with less side-effects with a doula. I'm also going to giving this a try without pain medicine. however, women use doulas for epidurals and c-sections as well. I have a pretty decent pain tolerance. I was pretty dilated with N&C before the csection and dealt well and after the csection I only used Ibuprofen for the first 2 days (I didn't know I could take something else). However, a leg cramp hurts quite a bit, so we'll see.. . We interviewed Maggie Graff last week and we will be interviewing Vanessa Earhart soon. My OB is very supportive of doulas and said she finds them wonderful at deliveries. The scary thing is I've gained 23 lbs already! Ahhhhh!
Here is a picture of me at 25 weeks:
Another neat thing is my OB is letting me use Jelly beans for my glucose test instead of that syrupy drink. I had to drink that syrup 3x with N&C and each time I couldn't keep it down. So, this time my new OB is arranging me to do the jelly beans. I'm sure I can handle those!
I have my glucose test at 28 weeks, so a few more weeks to go. :)
They look so cute playing with the mascara.
ReplyDeleteYour baby bump is so cute! You look great!!!!!
ReplyDeleteObviously you have two very observant children who watch you apply your makeup and attempt to copy your actions. The fact that Celia actually got some on her eyelashes is simply amazing. I share your relief that she didn't poke her eye or get mascara in there...ouch.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful! I'm continuing to learn from your blog. Had no clue about Duola's until reading up in them with your links. You must be a teacher!! Hope the next 15 weeks go as well as the first 25 did. Don't you dare worry about your weight. You'll drop it all shortly after birth like the last time!
You look great Jill!! That baby is growing! :) And how funny that both N&C wanted make up. *L* too cute!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are 25 weeks already - your belly is nice and cute and little. You seem to be carrying all up front like a little basketball. And that is hilarious about the mascara. Celia looks like she could be on that Toddlers and Tiara's show - lol (not really). They are really interested in your make up, that is too funny!
ReplyDeleteGreat Post, Jill. That's what happens from Celia watching you put on your make-up. She probably tried to put it on Nicholas! Too funny!
ReplyDeleteThose little rascals! Too funny!! You look great with your baby bump and I can't believe there are only 15 weeks left. Hope those go fast and easy like the other 25 have. I'm anxious to hear about your experience with the doula, too-- neat. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'm SOOO glad Nicholas is all better now. That was a rough one!!!
ReplyDeleteYou look great in the pic! Jelly bean glucose, not that sounds a lot better!
