Nicholas and Celia have been really enjoying their preschool class (only 1x a week) on Wednesdays. There are 6 other toddlers and its a great size group in the soft and cushy gymnastics gym. I hope to get some video or pictures at our last class this week. The teacher leads fingerplays and songs. Some top favorites of theirs that they can do (either from class or from home):
1. Wheels on the Bus (Nicholas now tries to sing this on his own!!)
2. Ring Around the Rosey
3. Open close them... (not sure of the real title) Goes like this:
Open, Close them (open/close hands)
Open, Close them
Give a little clap, clap clap
Open, Close them
open, Close them
put them in your lap
Creep them, Crawl them (have fingers walk up their chest to their mouth)
Creep Them, crawl them
Right up to your chin!
Open wide, your little mouth
But....
Do not put them in!! (chase fingers away and tickle)
4. Itsy Bitsy Spider
5. Sticky, Sticky Bubble Gum
They do such a nice job now with doing the motions and everything. Here is a cute little video of them loving to do 'Ring around the Rosey' together:
Nicholas has spewed a ton of new words this last week. Its so cool to watch. I'm sure Celia will be gaining more words real soon since she seems to follow his growth within a couple weeks. He is putting more and more words together. Words like "police car" "Where are you?" "under" "hide" and much more. They both have concepts of under/over, on/off, etc. The other day we were feeding the cats and Celia yelled "Kitty come! Ummies!"" (meaning "come eat kitties! Your food is here!". I really like this age a lot. Its great to see them grow and learn.

How adorable! They are learning lots and lots!
ReplyDeleteSo cute Jill! I'll have to see if Z&J will do that. :)
ReplyDeleteHow cute! My boys love to do ring around the rosey! They LOVE to fall down. Isn't it so fun?!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, so cute! My two love ring around the roseys, but only if we get in there with them. I love this age too, it's so fun to see the new things they pick up. I love those moments when they say something new or do something unexpected and your jaw drops. This is a great age (minus the terrible two tantrums).
ReplyDeleteThey are really just exploding with language lately! What a wonderful thing to watch. I'm having a blast watching my little geniuses surprise me every day. ;)
ReplyDeleteBut that song... I sing it all the time with preschoolers. But we call it "Open, shut them". I haven't tried that one with L&D, so thanks for the idea. ;)
