Today was my check-up ultrasound on the baby's heart. When I had my ultrasound at 17 weeks, it was still early to get a nice clear picture of the 4 chambers of the heart. This time the 4 chambers were there pumping away nicely. The brain looks perfect and all parts are where they should be. The only pictures I got were the face. Ultrasounds of faces look so weird. You'll see the orbits of the eyes (which the eyelid is still fused shut - should be able to open and blink by 27/28 weeks), the nasal area and the mouth. His head is to the side - forehead to the right of the picture. The baby was putting his hands over his eyes and moving all over.
Thats the other thing, we KNOW for sure he is a little boy. I was so sure he was a girl until 17 weeks, but this time I had them double check and there will not be any surprises. He is definitely a baby boy. Thankfully, a healthy little boy too. I wonder if he will look like Nicholas or Celia?

Glad your appointment went so well Jill and glad that they double checked to be sure he is a boy! *L* I don't know who I'd want him to look more like....N&C are both so stinking cute! This baby will be lucky to look like either of them. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good appointment and got to see the baby again. I think these full face views are funny. Your mind just wants to paint in the nose and rest of the face - lol. I'm so glad that everything is looking good and healthy. I can't believe you are MORE than half way thru this pregnancy. I can't wait to see who he looks more like too. I'm excited about that for my pregnancy as well. It's fun when you have twins that look so different to see what the third one will look like!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy for you. I'm glad all looks well. A boy! Thats great news. I never once was correct in guessing what we were having, lol. Always turned out opposite. Did they check your cervix? You are really getting there!
