In Wisconsin many of our snow days are often either blizzards, ice storms or messy slush. Even though we are all ready for spring and we were so excited to be seeing our grass after all the snow melted last week, we had the perfect snow day yesterday. Sunday night the rain turned to snow and monday morning we had a few inches of snow on the ground. But... it was about 40 degrees and very sunny. Instead of having 10+ inches of snow on the ground where Nicholas and Celia can't easily walk through it, the 3 inches or so was perfect. I put their snow pants, coats, mittens and hats on and they had a blast. They didn't even have any toys outside. They crawled, rolled, walked and ran in the snow. It was warm so they didn't need their hats. We were outside for at least 2 hours. At the very end I caught a bit of video of them. They had been trudging up the little slope between our front yard and our neighbors yard saying "Up Up Up" and then they would run down saying "down down down" and fall into the snow. They were giggling so hard with each other. I just love that they have such a great time together. I wish winter was like this everyday - it would make them so happy to be outside every morning or afternoon to play. Soon it will be warmer and we can be out more. Jason and I will need to be looking to buy them a tricycle soon with their birthday/Christmas money that we put aside.
Look at all the footprints! And this is just part of the front yard - they played in the back too!

ReplyDeleteLooks like fun!! They were really enjoying that, huh? I love how they would just fall down in the snow. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny how you say it was only 40 degrees out - that seems so cold to me - lol. But looking at the video it looks nice and sunny. I think it's so cute how happy there were to be playing out there. I love when they play well together too - it's the best feeling. And they really got around with all those footprints!
ReplyDeleteI love Nicholas' "down, down, down" and Celia's "up, up, up". How cute!!!! And it looks like they've really put their mark on the snow with all those footprints. ;)
