Playing in the sink

Though this activity tends to be a wet one, it sure keeps them happy and focused for the time being. Sometimes I will have them stand (carefully) on a towel over 2 chairs and play with some water/bubbles in the sink. Eventually I might turn on the water real low so they can catch it in their cups. Usually I'll give them their pretend pots and pans to pour with in the sink. This day Nicholas turned to Celia and almost dumped an entire cup of water on her head with a serious look on his face. I think he thought they were in the bath tub for a moment since they play with the same pots/pans in the bathtub and dump water over each other's heads. We had a minor flood on the floor. ha ha

  1. I'm just not brave enough to try this one yet. *L* Good for you though Jill! *L*

  2. Fun! I have to do this again, I tried months ago and they had a lot of fun. I saw yesterday that costco sells a kid sized sink that you hook up to your hose in the backyard and comes with all these fun gadgets. But letting them play in the sink is almost the same thing and it's free! Can't beat that. Anything to keep them occupied and entertained during the day!

you are brave girl! But I bet they love it! No wonder Celia wanted to play in the sink yesterday!

  4. We set up our water table for the 1st time this weekend with similar results. But they LOVED it. Too bad they keep trying to drink cupfuls of water when they're not ready for that yet (and almost choke on it)!!
