We have had 2 ultrasounds - one at 8 weeks and another at 10 weeks. My last ultrasound at 10 weeks showed a bouncing little baby. It was hopping and swimming all over the place. Looks like he/she thinks they are in some giant bounce house or something.
We are asking for prayers for the health of the baby. My OB noticed during my last ultrasound a bump (for lack of better word) near the umbilical cord connection to the stomach area. She said she has seen it before in babies that age and it has never amounted to anything. Of course, its enough to make me think about it enough until I know everything is okay. She said it could just be the period when there is a change in the umbilical cord connection (I'm not exactly sure what she meant) and at our next ultrasound it may be gone. Anyway, my next ultrasound in in a couple weeks so I will be eager to see how things are looking.
I did have a difficult pregnancy with Nicholas and Celia - including 14 weeks of bedrest (6 of which were in-hospital), medicine for contractions, etc. My OB feels this was only due to being pregnant with multiples and suspects this will be a much easier pregnancy. I will begin P17 progesterone shots in a month or so. P17 shots (weekly shot of progesterone) have shown to reduce preterm labor in 1/3 of women with a history of preterm labor, so its worth the prevention to give it a try. So far though, I've felt really quite good. I'm praying that I am able to be active and remain a normal pregnant woman this time! I have 2 little ones to care for so I need to be up and moving!
Here is an ultrasound picture from 10 weeks. I am 12 weeks now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jill! Glad you had a good birthday!
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for the new little one! Sometimes I wish Doctor's wouldn't tell us the things they see that usually end up being okay in the end. Just because it produces so much unnecessary worry. But then again, it's nice to know all that is going on. I'll pray though that it is nothing and gone by your next u/s.
Happy Birthday Jill!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great day!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Another TMMB here. I'm now almost 34 weeks pg with #3. The twins were 9 weeks early, 10 days in the hospital before they were born and home bedrest for 3 weeks before that. I've had none of the complications I had before and the baby looks like he'll stay put for a while longer now too. Good luck!
