silly kids

Friday Celia was being so cute. I have yet to buy them winter hats and waterproof mittens for this year so they've been wearing their hats from last year. The kind of fit yet. ha ha
Anyway, last week she picked one of the floor and put it on and then was stuffing SunChips into her shoes. What a goof! Then Nicholas joined in too.

Nicholas and Celia have added water color painting to their art time. However, little paint ends up on the paper. The first time they painted, Celia ended up painting her fingernails more than the paper. And this second time they both painted their faces. I had cleaned up Celia before I thought to take a picture. They were so mad that I washed their faces. Ay yi yi. At least waterpaints clean up so easily with water.

This weekend Jason and I took Nicholas and Celia shopping to look at christmas gifts. Shopko had a buy one toy, get the second 50% off. So we found some toys we planned on buying them anyway. We bought a fisher price piggy bank (Celia loved playing with this at a friend's house), a bubble mower (we almost need 2 of these - they fought over it at the same friend's house), and 2 Thomas the trains. Nicholas is really interested in Thomas the Train right now. We are considering buying a train table and a beginner wooden track for his Thomas trains (only certain tracks accomodate Thomas trains). I showed Celia the Baby Alive doll (it talks and pees on a potty) and she looked at it like "What the heck?". Both Nicholas and Celia (more Nicholas) are unsure around toys which make loud noises and move. We were at a friend's home last week and they were playing with an Elmo doll. Then we turned it on and it started dancing and Nicholas threw it off the table and ran away. Didn't surprise me.
Anyway, I showed Celia a regular baby doll and she seemed interested in that. She is so much harder to shop for right now than Nicholas is. I know I want to get her some latches/locks puzzles that are on the Amazon wishlist. She would like those a lot. She will play with cars, trains, puzzles, jewelry, mommy's make-up, etc too. But, I'm not too sure she is very interested in dolls right now to make it a worthwhile purchase.
This Christmas should be so much fun though!!!

  1. Jill, I was JUST telling DH yesterday that I wanted to get some water color paints for the kids to paint pictures for family for Christmas...now I am a bit worried!!! :) Looks like they had more fun painting themselves! What kind of paint did you use? Do you have a favorite brand?
I agree, Christmas will be fun!

  2. Love the artwork on Nicholas' face :). I agree - Kat is so much harder to shop for than Brody. I wonder if this will be a trend as they grow older? I saw a cute octopus puzzle that had the legs numbered. I think Kat would like it, so maybe Celia would too?
