Marker Mayhem

We've tried coloring with crayons, but they have a special interest in pens. I know it is easier for them to draw with pens since it requires less force. So, I bought some Crayola Washable Markers (and they are non-toxic). They really like these markers, however Nicholas likes them for drawing and tasting. Celia didn't really try to taste it at all.
They have been taking poor afternoon naps lately as well. So today I pushed back their morning nap (and plan to slowly push it back a little bit at a time until they can eat an earlier lunch and then lay down for a few hours - hopefully). So they are (especially Nicholas) is a fairly grumpy mood since they didn't get an afternoon nap. Then napped from 10-12 (Nicholas 10-12:30) and they weren't tired until 4:00pm and by then it was getting too late. They went to bed at 6pm.
Anyway, the grumpy and sad faces are not typical, but he was getting upset with me for having him stop sucking on the markers. Shortly after coloring he was in a really good mood, so don't feel like crying or anything. :)
Anyway, there is a short 45 sec video clip of them coloring, some pics and a scan of their pictures.

  3. That is too cute and funny! You are creating little Van Goghs! I want to try this with K&B, but I know they would suck on the markers like Nicholas did (I loved his blue tongue!). I think Grandma Maus had a great idea about giving him his Nuk, I bet that would work!

  7. Poor Nicholas was so crabby. Mom, why wouldn't you let me eat those markers like I wanted to? :( What a great idea! Next it's finger painting, right? Oh, wait, they already do that with dinner, don't they? :)
