UPDATE (April 14): Insurance said they needed to verify if we had other insurance before processing. She said "If you ever get a statement saying no coverage, then just give us a call". Well, no kidding we will call! And it should be illegal to do this to a person over the weekend!
Long story short, it should be our regular 80/20 coverage (which is still pretty high of a bill, but thank goodness less than $8600). Now we can breathe!!!

Today we got an unpleasant surprise!!! Our insurance bill from my surgery (from the miscarriage) came and it says we owe the full amount (about $8600). That nothing was covered!!!
I even called the night before the surgery to leave all the requested info and then the morning of the surgery I called the insurance rep and asked her if there was anything we should do and if we were all set, and she said we were fine. So this is a huge shock and a huge amount of money.
We can't call until monday since they are closed, but I am asking that for prayers out there to help this be resolved!

I'll say prayers - I think it will get resolved. We had a few issues like that after the babies were born and it is frustrating. I hope you get some better answers on Monday.
ReplyDeleteAdding my prayers too. Hoping when you can talk to someone Monday, it will get settled.
ReplyDeleteYou and Jason have nothing to worry about!!! A DNC, should definitely be more then covered in your INS plan... Me and my EX-Donna went through the same thing just 31/2 months further down the road! Trust me all was covered. Must just be a misprint...
ReplyDeleteI pray that everything is taken care of and you get good news on Monday!
ReplyDeleteHey Jill
ReplyDeleteI am sure once you call your insurance co. that they will reprocess the claim. I pray they will. Insurance is a mess though. Just for Lindon we paid almost 5000. Normal delivery Lindon had a scare during his annual physical for the fire dept. but it was an error on the Fitness center and it ended up costing us $500. Rediculous. Nothing was wrong at all. Their machines wacked out and he had to get it double checked otherwise he couldn't go back to work.
Oh my! I am glad it worked out. That was scary!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness! I thought it sounded odd to not cover your surgery, but you never know with insurance. This is a big relief, though! ;)
