Neglecting my blog

I've been so busy working on photos the last few days that I've neglected the Nicholas and Celia blog. I apologize! As I become more adept at my photo editing and processing, it won't take me as long. I am getting some more interest from people who would like to hire me for a photography session, but I want to continue to place being Nicholas and Celia's Mommy as my first and foremost 'job'. So, as I get going (still considering this a hobby as of now), I will only work part-time. Maybe scheduling only 2 sessions in a week, at most. But, for now, thats not a problem.
I've posted more session pictures on my photo blog, if interested. Click here.

Well, Nicholas' blister is improving. I think the fluid is draining inside a bit since his blister is softer. The poor guy has mosquito bites all over aside from me applying bug repellent on him. Jason picked up some Benedryl creme my friend suggested and it seems to help bring his huge bumps down.
Nicholas was being quite whiney the last week or so. He has been wanting me to pick him up all the time, crying all the time and many times he just needed some cheese (with his whine, lol). This weekend when I was out for 2 photo sessions he was just great for Jason. But the second I returned home he would begin whining and pulling on my legs. I made sure his needs were met (diaper, uncomfortable, hunger/thirst, kisses/hugs) and then if he was still hanging all over me, I said "Stop" while putting my hand out in the 'stop' for sign language. I don't know if it was magic, but he only needed me to do that a couple times on Sunday and he has been SO much better. I LOVE cuddling with him (and we do that often), but the excessive whining was too much. Hopefully this was the key.
On an exciting note, Nicholas is started to talk more!!! He said 'nana' for 'banana. And he is trying to mimic my words. I ask Celia to say words and she just laughs at me as if to say, "yeah right mom!". It makes me laugh how she laughs at me when I ask her to say words. She has been signing more though, so maybe she is getting there? She signed a few more words just the last couple days (like cracker, elephant, more).

Tonight Jason and I were having Gyros and we didn't think N&C would like them, so they had a separate dinner before we sat down to eat. However, they both tasted my gyro and loved it! They kept coming back for bites. I would never have thought they would like this. I think just the fact that it was my food helped them to taste it. :)

  1. First of all, I don't feel like you are ignoring your blog, but I do so look forward to seeing something new every day.
Second, I love the pictures on your photo blog. The one of the twins being held is just gorgeous. Of course, all of the ones of Lauren are sweet and beautiful, but then I can't be objective there. You truly have a gift! (two gifts -- being mommy and photographer).
Glad Nicholas' blister is getting better and that's he's starting to talk more. Celia will just all of a sudden go into sentences :-) So looking forward to seeing all of you the end of August.

How fun to hear Nicholas learn new words and cute that Celia thinks it's funny :). Soon they will be chatting up a storm, how cute will that be!!
