This evening Nicholas and Celia were talking and giggling to each other in their room at bedtime. From 6:30-7pm they were silly in their room. Finally at 7pm I went in to see why they weren't sleeping. When I walked in I was greeted by the smell of a dirty diaper.
I looked at Nicholas and said "Did you go poo-poo?"
He shook his head no as he said "uh uh" and then pointed with his little right pointer finger directly across to his sister, Celia, standing in her crib. I looked at her and she smiled at me.
He was correct, she had indeed pooped. However. . . so had he.
I just had to laugh at this his grown-up answer to my question. He actually answered me.... and also passed the blame in the process.
Speaking of talking, we were at Costco today and while I was looking through the children's clothing a Father, with his approximately 7 month old daughter sitting in the cart seat, came up next to us to also look at children's clothing. Celia and Nicholas both started emphatically saying "Hi" to the baby while they waved at her. They were so excited to see her- as if they knew her or something. I said to Nicholas and Celia, "Say 'Hi Baby' " and Celia actually said "Hi Baby" a couple times. She said it very well too! Nicholas said "Hi" and " Baby" separate, but he still did it! We are so excited to see our little toddlers begin to speak!

I can just picture them saying hi to that baby, how sweet :). That is really good that Celia put the two words together. Kat has only done that once, and not since. I love that Nicholas blamed Celia for the poopy diaper. It's always the sisters fault - lol.
ReplyDeleteHow funny that Nicholas blamed Celia and was guilty too. Probably just the beginning of the "not me" phase that lasts until they are 25 years old :-) So exciting to have them start talking.
ReplyDeleteAwww how adorable. It's neat how they are "drawn" to other small children. Good thing you went in to check why they weren't sleeping. What silly kids. At least it wasn't in the tub this time! Keep working on "Hi Grandma!"
